Wg Cdr ATM Nazrul Islam, Ph.D, psc (Retd) Advisor , HANSA Aircraft Services PLC, joined in Bangladesh Air Force in 1975 and retired from Air Force in 1999. He served GMG Airlines and United Airways of Bangladesh from 2000 to 2013 in higher management and decision-making positions during his tenure. He was also Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Avian Aviation and Galaxy Flying Academies respectively until 2020. He is currently now an Independent Director and Acting Managing Director of United Airways (BD) Limited. He is also an advisor of United College of Aviation, Science and Management.
He did his Master of Science in Physics from Dhaka University, MBA from Bangladesh Open University and conferred with Ph. D from Atlantic National University, USA. He has been an adjunct faculty member of many Private Universities in Bangladesh. He has many publications on professional and general subjects including novel and poem. He is widely known as Aviation Expert in Bangladesh.
Air Vice Marshal KAZI NAZRUL HAQUE, BSP, psc (Retd) has been serving as CEO of HANSA Aircraft Services PLC since April 2023. From professional urge, he took a step forward to join HANSA Aircraft Services PLC, a concern of Unique Group to contribute in Aviation sector by establishing a pioneer MRO facility in Bangladesh. He served Impress Aviation Ltd as Company Advisor for more than six years and also served for three years in ATL Aviation Ltd, a AOC and Part-145 AMO approved organization of Civil Aviation of Bangladesh (CAAB). He was commissioned from Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Academy in Engineering branch in 1983. Attained significant & valuable working experience as an Engineering officer for maintenance of aircrafts, helicopters, vehicles tester & equipment at field level to the highest Engineering position of BAF.
He served as Director of Engineering for more than 07 years at BAF Headquarter and retired after completing 32 years of dignified service. He served at different command level at different managerial role, strategic planning including decision making position of BAF. He has done a number of professional training and courses including Aviation Technology course. He was graduated from Defense Services and Staff College, Dhaka, Bangladesh and obtain Masters in Defense studies from National University of Bangladesh. He is a Science graduate from Dhaka University and did Masters in Business Administration from a reputed University.
In the recognition of his outstanding performance & service rendered to Bangladesh Air Force, Air Officer was awarded with ‘Distinguished Service Medal’ (BSP) for a peace time medal by the Honorable President of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh in 2013. Bangladesh Society of NDT has also recognized him as an experienced and pioneer in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) by rewarding with “BSNDT Award” in 2012.
The Air officer also rendered valuable service as Logistic & Engineering Officer at UN Mission at Kuwait (UNIKOM) in 1998-99. Last but not least, he was directly involved in setting up Fighter overhaul plant (F-7 series aircraft) and also contributed to set up Helicopter overhaul plant (MI-17 series) for Bangladesh Air Force during his tenure as Director of Engineering between 2008 to 2015. This wide area of responsibility itself is a testament of his leadership experience, sheer demonstration of management capability, diversified experience and knowledge which will help him to contribute and discharge assignments that has been now entrusted with.
